Universities in Lublin investing on a large scale
Since the European Union gives away money by supplying education institutions with donations, Lublin universities seem to reap the benefit from it very well. Having enough money from EU and minor percentage from own budgets, universities are making huge investments worth millions Euro each. We would like to present you some of these by providing you with the visualizations and sufficient information.
New Veterinary Department of University of Life Sciences

The building of steel and glass (Jadwiga Jamiołkowski project) is to stand in place of existing veterinary pavilions. UP by planning this investment counted on EU subsidies from the very beginning.
Rectorate, a former building of the provincial Communist Party Committee
After the fall of communism, the building from the 50s was taken over by the Medical University authorities. It is indeed a reminder of socialist realism, but also one of the most interesting architectural objects of Lublin from the second half of the twentieth century.
Now the university authorities plan to insulate the building and restore the facade. Above visualization presents how the building will look like after the restoration. That’s how it will look like after the end of an investment.
And so on the back, from the Saxon Gardens.
Apparently, the university authorities and the visualization authors count on that along with the rapid modernization of the Rectorate, the city will also renovate the Saxon Gardens.
The University received a large subsidies for this investment from a EU programme called “ The Development of Eastern Poland”. The requirement of own contribution, worth 15 million zł, seemed to be the problem, but fortunately it was solved by a donation from the Ministry of Finance.
Maybe, finally in November, the building will be opened. Construction was supposed to end in late June. But classes are not held in it so far.
Swimming pool at the University of Life Sciences
A few years ago, students from the University of Life Sciences for physical education classes had to travel around Lublin. In 2006, the construction of sports and recreational center of the UP, which is located at the Głęboka street, had been launched. Since less than two years, students and residents of Lublin can reap the benefit of this investment. The University had spent more than 30 million zł for this investment, of which EU funding amounted to 17 million. The government contributed to this investment.
Centre for Innovation and Implementation of New Techniques and Technologies in Agricultural Engineering

This object is being built vis a vis sports and recreational center of the UP on the Głęboka Street. Mostly, students from production engineering faculty will make use of it. The building will include 22 laboratories, eight computer labs and three large halls (two for nearly 200 people and one for 360 people). In addition, the Foreign Language Center will be held in the facility. The cost of this investment is more than 90 million zł, and funding from the Development of Eastern Poland is 81 million.
Ecotech Laboratories Complex

The insights are in compliance with the newest safety standards. There are also solars installed on the building to heat the water inside.

Renovation of the old College Pharmaceuticum
However, the former pharmaceutical facilities at Staszica street, will not remain empty. The interiors are currently being renovated, and after the renovation students from the faculty of nursing and health sciences will be moved there. Today the buildings of these departments are scattered throughout the city. Works on the reconstruction will cost nearly 20 million zł, with a subsidy of around 14 million.
KUL biotechnology facilities

The building is located on Poczekajka district, along the Kraśnicka alley, next to the provincial hospital.
The biotechnology department building has 5 floors. It was designed on a triangular plan. With 26 million zł needed to invest, 21 million were covered from the Development of Eastern Poland.
