Permission for the construction and modernization of CSK Music Theatre has been issued on Wednesday – revealed on Thursday during a city council session, Jacek Sobczak, board member of the province. He appeared in the town hall to ask council to approve an application for obtaining funds to build an underground parking lot at the Meeting Centre of Cultures. His petition was reproached by the councilors for putting them against the wall.

I announce that on October 19^th, two decisions were issued, on which a permission for the construction of CSK and TM may be granted. On these basis we can announce a tender tomorrow – Sobczak said from the pulpit in the meeting room of the city council.

But the county cannot yet advertise the tender. The Lublin Voivodeship want one contractor to build CSK Theatre, modernize the Music Theatre and build an underground parking.

At today’s session, council members discussed the25 million zł transfer from the city’s budget for the construction of parking in front of CSK. Jacek Sobczak tried to persuade councilors to include such funds in the future budget. The discussion was held on the occasion of planning a long-term financial forecast for Lublin. – This document does not include mentioned 25 million zł, which are crucial for the construction of the parking lot at the Meeting Centre of Cultures. Without this facility the whole complex cannot be built, because of the functionality concerns. Therefore, I suggest that this amount must be included in the forecast – explained.

Sylwester Tułajew, Chairman of the Law and Justice (PiS0, objected. – It’s too early. We do not know yet the shape of next year’s budget. Yet now we know that in this year’s budget an amount of 70 million zł will be missing due to the lack of municipal property sales. Let’s wait for next year’s budget – appealed.

- Without 25 million zł guaranteed, we will not be able to move with the public procurement procedure, which will select the contractor investment – Jacek Sobczak explained. – Today I received a decision on the construction permit. If we have guaranteed money, then we can start with the tender – he added.

Ultimately, councilors the matter of finding a 25 million zł for the construction of CSK will be talked over by councilors during the November session.

- I hope it happens. This year we want to launch a tender, and we are planning to begin investment the next spring. We have finished with the paperwork. This is a watershed moment for the construction of the Meeting Centre of Cultures and the modernization of the Lublin Philharmonic and the Music Theatre – Sobczak stressed.
